IAM Encounter

IAM Encounter is in full swing by now. I don’t have anything specific to report because, as I noted in Tuesday’s post, I purposefully left the laptop at home. This is a scheduled post.

The theme for this year’s conference is Art in Action. From the website:

Art in Action is International Arts Movement’s annual gathering of artists and creative catalysts to wrestle with the deep questions of art, faith and humanity, to inspire the creative community to engage with the culture that is, and to create the world that ought to be.

IAM (which stands for International Arts Movement) was founded roughly 16 years ago, as I recall, by nihonga artist Makoto Fujimura. Today’s Wordle is based on his blog.

About pcNielsen
Paul Nielsen founded The Aesthetic Elevator late in 2005. He owns a piece of paper, located somewhere in his house (not on the wall), stating that he earned a B.F.A. from the University of Nebraska around about 2001. While there, he studied studied architecture, graphic design and ceramics, graduating with a degree in studio art. Paul presently serves as communications manager for a small non-profit doing their print design and marketing. He spends as much time sculpting in his studio as possible — which is not nearly enough. Visit his website at pcNielsen.com.
