JBU Gallery Fall shows

I missed the first JBU Gallery show this fall — a collection of rock concert posters which my friends lauded — and intend to be at the next two openings. Both look to contain some very interesting two-dimensional works dealing with liturgical subjects.

October 9 Longing and Hope, paintings by Janet McKenzie, opens. The following image is of her work titled Woman Offered #2 from her website. According the website, #2 was created after the first version, a nude, was rejected for exhibition.

November 13, Dan Addington’s paintings are revealed to the Northwest Arkansas public. He works in encaustics. The following work of from his website is titled Signs of the Flesh.

About pcNielsen
Paul Nielsen founded The Aesthetic Elevator late in 2005. He owns a piece of paper, located somewhere in his house (not on the wall), stating that he earned a B.F.A. from the University of Nebraska around about 2001. While there, he studied studied architecture, graphic design and ceramics, graduating with a degree in studio art. Paul presently serves as communications manager for a small non-profit doing their print design and marketing. He spends as much time sculpting in his studio as possible — which is not nearly enough.
